Abstract

The human being as a species is subject to the impact of various factors in the environment that surrounds him; which are the so-called environmental factors, which have a great impact on health. Environmental pollution represents one of the most critical and serious problems throughout the world. Consequently, it is necessary to become aware, as well as to search for alternatives for a prompt solution. Atmospheric pollution is the presence in the air of materials or forms of energy that imply risk, damage or serious discomfort for people and natural beings, as well as that can attack different materials, reduce visibility or produce unpleasant odors and diseases.  Pollution is usually associated with human activities, although pollution caused by natural alterations (volcanic eruptions, forest fires, soil erosion, water pollution due to geological phenomena) must also be considered. The fundamental objective of this review is to demonstrate some effects of air pollution that influence the health- disease of human beings. It is concluded that awareness must be raised and collaboration increased between the sectors involved, in order to jointly carry out new ideas and solutions regarding air pollution and its effects on health, with the aim of conserving the planet where we live. improve our quality of life and the quality of our environment
