Abstract

Vimang is a natural product obtained from the extract of the mango bark. In this paper, the results obtained in the determination of the amount of antioxidative principles are show with the application of a methodology based on a model chain reaction of oxidation started in a hydrocarbon. The study was carried out in a gasometric facility at 35 (C. The temperature in the reactor was 60 (C, to which 10 mg of free radicals initiator (AIBN), Vimang disolved in dimethylsulfoxide; 0,4 mL of glacial acetic acid and 5 mL of cumeno. The values of the induction period (0 were obtained for different amounts of Vimang (500, 750, 1000, 1250 y 1500 mg). The average percent of antioxidative principles obtained was 24,1 % expressed as BHT.
