Determination of trans-4-N,N-dimethylamino acid cinnamic by Liquid Chromatography High Resolution

Abstract

High Performance Liquid Chromatography analysis has been developed for the determination of 4-N,N-dimethylamniocinnamic acid (B) in precense of malonic acid (A) and 4-N,N-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (C) using five mobile phase, four of acetonitrile:water and methanol:water in different proportions, RP-8 column, (5 µm, (250x4) mm). The flow-rate was 0.7 mL/min and the eluent monitored at 254 nm . The linearity test was made and the solvent systems were found to be suitable of them a mobile phase composed methanol
-water (80:20, v/v) as shows a good chromatography profile, an adecuated retention time (3.27 min) and linear in the concentration range of 30 to 50 µg/mL.
