Abstract

Decomposition of perbenzoic acid in CCl4 at 41 ºe in presence or absence of LiCI and inhibitor was studied. LiCI catalyzes induced aod mooomolecular perbenzoic acid decomposition. Induced decomposition has an important pa11icipation in the perbenzoic acid decomposition in absence of benzaldehyde. The fonnation of bellzoyl peroxide in the decomposition of perbenzoic acid was practically negligible and is conditioned to the presence of benzaldehyde in the reaction mixture.
