Abstract

In this work, acrylic acid/vinyl acetate copolymers with homogeneous chemical composition were obtained by means of solution copolymerization in a continuous stirred tank reactor. The copolymers were prepared by means of radical polymerizatíon in a 93 % ethanol solution, at 75 ºC, witb resideuce times ranging from 2 up to 12 h . This procedure allows the preparation of a co­polymer family with molar fractious of acrylic acid ranging from O, 1 up to 0,8, and a high chemical homogeneity, from two mono­mers with great difference between their reactivity ratios.
