Abstract

The structure of N-benzyl-(2-cyano-3-(2' furyl)acrylamide has been determined from X-ray diffraction. Crystal are triclinic, space group Pl with a =9 .805(2), b = 27.542(3), c =5 .010(4) Á, ex =95 .64(2), B = 1 04.83(2) and y =8 8.52(2)0, V =l 301.5(1.6) A3, Mw =25 2.3 g, m =0.6 7 nun-1,T= 293 K and Z =4. There are two crystallographically independent but chemically equivalent molecules present in the asymmetric unit. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares analysis using SHELXTL-Plus(l), witb final Rb =O .074 (wRb =O.O 79) for 3 495 reflections and 209 retined parameters. The molecules are packed at normal van der Waals distances.
