Abstract

measurements of the depth of carbonation (Xc). Regarding to the first, the results were confirmed with those obtained in a structure built with a reinforced concrete of a similar water/cement ratio of 0.4, exposed to the impact of the aggressive coastal environment of the atmosphere in Cuba. It continues to be demonstrated that the type of concrete elaborated with PP-35(0,4) pozzolanic cement, in addition to guaranteeing long project service life for the structures to be built, a positive economic and environmental impact ensures. A variant of the carbonation constant k-mm/days determination in accelerated carbonation chamber test was proposed, due to the impossibility of calculating it in k-mm/years0,5 as happens on site, provided that an increase in Xc exist as was demonstrated in this study, depending on the curing and exposure time in the different types of concrete exposed to the accelerated test.
