Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease whose causative agent is Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which from the initial stages of its attack on the human body can cause lymphatic or hematogenous dissemination to any organ or tissue of the body. The pulmonary location is the most frequent, but it is not the only one, since the agent can enter the body through different entry ports.1 Extrapulmonary tuberculosis constitutes about 20% of all cases of this disease, but this proportion tends to increase as the incidence of pulmonary localization decreases.
