Abstract

Within the Potentials Related to Endogenous Events, the P300 component is one of the most widespread in
clinical practice. Being used as a functional indicator of cognitive integrity. The P300 is recorded in
normal subjects, as a robust response, of maximum amplitude in central parietal regions, with very stable
topography and functional modulation both intra and inter individuals. More specifically, the P300
component has been related to updating the context in short-term memory, and in particular to the
processing steps involved in stimulus evaluation and decision making.
