Tratamiento termico alcalino para la reduccion de acidos nucleicos en levaduras

Abstract

The growth of K. fragilis cells yeast on pilot plant scale and the using of heat treatment with ammonium hydroxide for lowering nucleic acid content is reported in this work. Growth rates from 0,65 to 0,71 h-' were obtained.. Under these conditions the biomass obtained presented a nucleic acid content of 12,08 á0,52 . During the treatment with ammonium hydroxide 4,5% at 65'C during 30 minutes, a nucleic acid reduction of aproximatety 90% (it means a final nucleic acid concentration of 1,2%) with losses of biomass and proteins of 30% and 20^%o, respectively. By compare results under similar conditions with S . cerevisiae cells yeast, higher losses of proteins and biomass are observed. To all appearance due to the smaller resistant of its cell wall.
